3. Car for a Comedian
Spike picks up comedian and fellow Esquire host, Jay Larson, of "Best Bars in America," in a $285,000 McLaren 650s to help him find a reliable and classy second car, perfect for weekend cruising.
4. The Perfect Vintage
Spike takes a trip to Los Olivos, CA, in a $100,000 Aston Martin Vantage GT, to help a winemaker find a large, utilitarian vehicle that can shuttle guests around his vineyard. Under the beautiful setting of wine country, Spike shows our buyer three unique tourist haulers, including a Pinzgauer, VW pickup, and a "Uni-Dodge"- a car featured in the Academy award winning film "Argo".
5. Kate Plus V8
A trackside television reporter needs Spike's help to replace her rental fleet Hyundai for something befitting a woman with a growing career involving fast cars. Actor, Patrick Dempsey gives her a lesson in speed racing and a chance to get behind the wheel. Spike shows her three sporty and stylish cars, including a Porsche Boxster.
6. Grill and Thrills
A restaurateur driving a custom Scion with a sausage-making grill needs a daily driver that doesn't smell like grease. After a field trip with world-renowned drift car racer, Joon Maeng, Spike shows our buyer three fast and performance-oriented options on a budget; The Golf R, Subaru WRX and a Ford Focus ST.
7. Hauler Back
Spike helps a husband and wife find a fun and stylish ride with enough space for her woodworking business and seating to shuttle his out of town family. After a lesson driving a manual in a big rig truck, Spike shows them a 1968 Ford Country Squire, a 2015 Subaru Outback, and a 1963 Chevy C10 Stepside Truck.
8. Truck, Yeah!
It's all about trucks, as Spike helps a construction manager find something big enough for a growing family and business, while not short on luxury or performance. Spike introduces him to three of the best double-cab work trucks on the market, and takes the buyer off-roading in a Ford Raptor to prove that having a truck is not a compromise for fun.
9. Band on the Run
Spike helps out his friend, Matt Farah, from The Smoking Tire, put some mileage on his Million Mile Lexus project before helping out EDM band, Citizun, find a spacious and stylish vehicle for their next concert tour.
10. Cooking with Gas
A sensible-seeking chef needs Spike's help finding a car as interesting as the food he creates. Spike has just the recipe; including a field trip to Magnus Walker's, Urban Outlaw Shop, for a sweet ride in a classic Porsche to encourage the buyer's inner gear head to come out.
11. A Hoop Dream Car
A basketball player starting his professional career in Europe is ready to upgrade the beat-up, hand-me-down from his grandfather. Spike chooses three options with plenty of swag and legroom for this 6'10" athlete, and brings in a player from the LA Clippers for advice on choosing a car for a young baller with plenty of game.
12. Vintage Ride for an Oakland Raider
Spike picks up Donald Penn, the offensive tackle for the Oakland Raiders, in a Dodge Charger Hellcat to check out the player's impressive garage. After taking stock, Spike lines up three vintage rides, a 1961 Cadillac Convertible, a 1972 Buick Riviera, and a 1968 Ford F-100. All great selections and big enough to fit a football player's frame and guaranteed to be perfect additions to Donald's baller collection.
13. Car Collecting 101
Spike drives a camera car equipped with a million-dollar movie crane to meet a cinematographer who is looking for a car that holds camera gear, as well as it holds collectible value. Spike shows him a 1976 Ford Bronco, a 1979 Mercedes 300TD Wagon, and a 1989 Jeep Grand Wagoneer, all perfect starter choices for a budding car collector.
14. Performance Enhancement
A Los Angeles plastic surgeon is on the hunt for Spike's favorite type of car... a weekend cruiser. With a large budget of $150K, Spike shows a Dodge Viper SRT GTS, a classic 1970 Mercedes 280 SL and a 2016 Mercedes AMG GTS.
15. A Roman Chariot
Spike helps a tattoo artists find a replacement for his beloved Camaro that was destroyed in a recent accident. After opening the buyer's eye to the beauty of European muscle cars during a field trip to the McLaren showroom in Beverly Hills, Spike lines up three buyer three sporty and safe options, including a Bentley Continental GT, that surprisingly fits within his $60,000 budget.
16. Family Cool Bus
Spike drives a Bisimoto engineered Honda minivan with over a 1000 horsepower engine to meet a soccer mom who is driving a minivan that is considerably slower. After a driving adventure in an Alpha Romeo 4C through California canyon country, Spike helps our buyer find a fast and stylish upgrade with a few of the best cross-over SUVs on the market from three all-star brands; Volvo, Audi, and Mercedes.
17. Hot Property
Spike suggests a Range Rover Autobiography, a Maserati Ghibli and a Mercedes-Benz E250 BlueTEC sedan as suitable options for a real-estate agent looking to upgrade her vehicle and impress her clients.
18. Off Road Warrior
Spike takes an avid dirt biker on a 4X4-training course before helping him find a rugged and reliable vehicle with enough capacity to haul motorbikes. Spike shows our buyer a Toyota FJ Cruiser, a Land Rover LR3, and a Chevy Colorado; three powerful options, able to take him on or off-road, or anywhere he wants to go.
